So I have read places that commenting on other blogs and leaving your website gives you a backlink and helps with seo. Is this true? I’ve also read it hurts seo. What is true. Is it good practice to leave your website as well?
My understanding is that so long as you aren't commenting in a spammy way, the links don't hurt your SEO and it might help your SEO. Neil Patel is my go-to SEO expert. Here's an article he has on the topic. https://neilpatel.com/blog/nofollow-link-answers/
There seem to be different categories of backlinks (text only, referred, image, etc.). I'm not sure how they rank with which ones are better but I don't think any of them hurt you unless your actions seem "spam" like.
Hi, is this the right place to ask this question?
